I can do that if need be.
Since I have noticed the problem I have remembered seeing the problem before. I do use computers for my hobby which is almost a full time pastime for me now, and I seem to remember there is a security or safety feature somewhere that I overlooked...just plain slow of me...I will get it right eventually, I always do...lol...fingers triple plussed then crossed... and having this particular pc available is not vital because I bought it for the cheap Microsoft Office 2003 Professional software which is requirement for a computer course I hope to start on soon and I do have other computers ready to use. Thank you. Used computer... *You* should take the installation media (hopefully it is original (stamped) discs) and format the system and install Windows XP cleanly. Update the hardware drivers, patch Windows XP, install your applications and security software and start like this computer is yours - because it is now. Don't take the chance that anything at all is a mystery to you - you know what went on the system, etc. -- Shenan Stanley MS-MVP -- How To Ask Questions The Smart Way http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html |

Yes, that is the best thing for me to do. There is too much involved
that I do not understand and so many things I can put right by myself. Thankyou. There is more than 10 cds with the pc which is rather exciting. I have already installed Windows XP on plenty of other pcs and always wanted to see what the soft wares that go into an OEM computer such as this. I don't understand how the previous owner could have reinstalled XP for me the new owner without opening the sealed cd envelopes. Oh well, not to worry, a clean install it is. Thank you....and for your patience.
