Default connecting 2 computers to internet thru router

I was connecting 2 computers (computer 1 and 2) to internet thru router. DSL
cable to modem, usb cable from modem to router and one usb from router to
both of computers. Everything was working ok. but now internet on one
computer which is nearer to router (computer 1) can be connected if I connect
the computer directly to modem but not otherwise however two monitors at task
bar show that computer is connected to internet. same is the situation with
other computer. moreover the when I open browser left monitor of icon at
taskbar show lighted but other one doesn't.
thanks.

Sorry, but your cabling doesn't make sense. You don't want to use USB in
this situation. Your setup should be:

DSL modem - one special cable going to the phone jack in the wall.
DSL modem - one *ethernet* cable going to the router.
Router - *ethernet* cables going to computers (or they can connect
wirelessly).

Take a look at the Linksys Learning Center:

It doesn't matter whether you have a Linksys router; the above site has good
illustrations that may help you.
