That's easy. Just disable automatic restart.
E.g. press Win-Break, Advanced tab, Startup and Recovery settings
uncheck Automatically restart. I'm not sure but I think there is also
a boot option which does that temporarily. If not you could at least
boot an alternate partition, then do a load hive, zap the loaded registry
appropriately and store the hive again.

BTW this really doesn't have much to do with WU.
Cross-posting to an XP specific newsgroup.

Default Re: SP3 Endless Reboot

My friendly, fellow posters. I am very, very sorry for all the problems that
my stupidity has been causing here. I have been outing, you say?, a dirty,
lying REAL TROLL Mick Murphy <RT>, and his brother, Fake PaulShit, Paul
(Shite) Montgomery, also TROLL.
I help people here, not arguing, with the swill of the garbage bins!!!
Please, please forgive me for being so silly. Look at the record here. I am
up to nearly 500 correct answers for GOLD, then MVP. We still friends, yes?

I think most of us veterans understand & sympathize. You could do two
things to help yourself and other users:

1. Access the MS newsgroups via an NNTP newsreader (e.g., OE; Windows Mail;
<spit> Windows Live Mail) instead of that clunky web-interface:

Setting up Outlook Express to access Microsoft newsgroups
http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/ou...snewreader.htm

Setting up Windows Mail (Vista) to access Microsoft newsgroups
http://www.winhelponline.com/blog/mi...-windows-mail/

2. Use a distinguishable but munged email address when posting.

From the headers of your posts made via NNTP, we could quickly determine
your posting IP and compare it to MM's when he's spoofing you.
