John John:
I've recently spent a lot of time in the Vista groups tracking down posters/trolls who constantly switch nicks and like to spoof other posters. Many - but not all - of the posters doing that use aioe.org to make their posts. Aioe.org has no log-in so spoofing is easy using that newsgroup server. Those aioe.org posts have the IP coded, but it's simple to trace a particular user/IP once you figute it out. The spoofs that don't come from aioe.org show the IP of the sender in encoded form so it's easier to see. Mick Murphy has been spoofed mercilessly in those groups by ONE person using aioe.org to post the spoofed messages - and by another person who makes no attempt to mask his IP (that same person spoofed me). The aioe.org person has also sent a few messages as "HTCU" and "High Tech Crime Unit". Now I see Murphy's being spoofed by that same aioe.org account over here as well... and those same other nicks have also been used over here. Mick can get nasty when he's mad, but he's never spoofed anyone in the MS groups, as he logs directly into the MS servers to post to the MS groups. Can't spoof from there as far as I know - unless you hack the person's login name and password. Nass "spoofed" himself recently, judging from the headers. He too logs directly into the MS servers to post. Like I said, you can't spoof from there as far as I know. Murphy isn't blameless in the back-and-forth crap between him and nass, but he's not responsible for a lot that you've seen here. Being spoofed hasn't helped. Nass, however, took it to another level recently when he stepped over the line and "spoofed" himself in an attempt to make Murphy look worse. |

I don't know or care who the spoofer is but if he keeps it up he will be
reported. When people start spoofing and highjacking other posters threads just to launch insults at each other they deserve to have their posting privileges revoked. I don't know who is to blame for the Nass / Murphy conflict - but I am heartily sickened by the ongoing allegations and sniping. I use Outlook Express to download headers from this newsgroup. I have added both "gentlemen" to my list of blocked senders - and immediately, the count of new messages diminished to a manageable number. John John (MVP) has threatened to escalate this problem via the newsgroup administrators. Maybe it would help to resolve matters, if he carried out his threat. Then, the real culprit(s) might be banned from future abuse of this, and other forums. Furthermore, if Mr Murphy and/or Mr Nass believe they have been wronged, perhaps they should lodge a similar complaint. |

I Already Did this morning when I wake up to find that all these trolling going on in the Newsgroup which Mr Paul kindly showed that I faked it myself to make Mick looks worse which I really don't need because he is worse and been mocked in the Vista NG. Wouldn't solve a thing. They would merely register with a new user name. This goes on in the Vista groups endlessly. MS needs to institute a log-in for ALL users, most notably an absent requirement for posters not using the MS servers directly. |

oh pleaze.....
it is easy for spoofers to claim they are being spoofed - its all games. further, no one asked for an analysis as well. so this in itself is indicative is a red herring. ----------- in regards to john john mvp, he has always been arrogant and a troll. that is why he and a few others on in my kill file. bad mvp's especially those that speak badly about microsoft (the hands that feeds their egos) have no right to be righteous. believe me, if the mvp program can't regulate the integrity of their mvp's and microsoft can't regulate the mvp program, then surely this issue is a moot one.
