I'm wondering if this is a solution to a recurring problem I have with
explorer.exe going to app. 80% cpu use and taking the entire cpu use to 100%. This occurs almost always when I open a Word 2007 doc, occurs sometimes when I open an Excel or Powerpoint 2007 file, and sometimes when downloading files with Firefox or IE and selecting where to save them. On the other hand, it never happens when I open files associated with non-Microsoft applications, like PDF's. XP SP3 is installed, as are the latest Office 2007 updates. This has been going on for months, even when I was at SP2 and using Word/Excel/PPT 2000. I've tried various solutions I found online, nothing has worked. I'm wondering if reinstalling explorer.exe is the only answer. If so, I'm not sure how to do this as I have an XP SP2 CD (for a different pc), so how do I install it from the SP3 installation? Thank you. "Dave Patrick" wrote: > I agree. Your desired end result is not clear at all.
