Does anyone know how to create a bootable XP CD with all current
drivers/patches/add-ons that you want on it already (and drivers specific to that particular machine)? I'd like to do this for all my systems running Windows (if possible). If you already have an installation, but need a disk for a specific machine (I understand that is your question): you could use "Bart's Preinstalled Environment (BartPE)" http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/ - helped me quite a few times when something went wrong. And to rebuild an installation CD from your own legit installation there is f.i. http://www.petri.co.il/windows_2000_...pstreaming.htm Hope this helps. |

Do you mean an installation CD with everything integrated or some CD that boots into, say, BartPE and can be used to repair said PC? -- Shenan Stanley MS-MVP -- How To Ask Questions The Smart Way http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html |

Hello and thanks for your reply.
Yes, I meant create a special CD/DVD for each of my Windows systems with just the required drivers installed and all the patches/security updates/service packs and even various other "stuff" like PowerToys and such. That's what I'm trying to do. BTW, I'd like to do the same for Mac OS X, Linux (Fedora Core 7 or 8) and/or Ubuntu and Solaris (if necessary). As far as Microsoft is concerned, I have to keep one box running Win98 and I don't have all the patches/service packs/etc for it and I've got some posts out there asking for that. Any help in those areas would be greatly appreciated.
