Make sure you have enabled file sharing and NetBIOS. To confirm them, in
each computer use net share command and net view command. If you receive system error, post back with the results. -- Bob Lin, MS-MVP, MCSE & CNE Networking, Internet, Routing, VPN Troubleshooting on http://www.ChicagoTech.net How to Setup Windows, Network, VPN & Remote Access on http://www.HowToNetworking.com "bhay@nascospg.com" <bhaynascospgcom@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:234997D4-6087-4B1E-A403-8951244F9113@microsoft.com... >i am trying to network two xp computers in a workgroup. one computer can >see > itself in the workgroup but the other computer does nothing when i click > view > "workgroup computers". i have check the mode, given the computer a static > ip > address, turn off all firewalls and still nothing. > > nothing happens when i click "view workgroup computers". why doesn't it > do > anything? |
