Default Printer Sharing

Help! I just networked 2 PCs together and want to share the printer that is
connected to my main PC. I know the networking is working because I can
transfer files between the computers. I have enabled sharing on the printer
I want to share on the Sharing tab for the printer, but it won't show up when
I try to browse to it when adding a printer on the second PC. I have read
the instructions on Windows Help and Support and the knowledge base, and
according to them, I did this right. Why can't I see my shared printer on my
second machine? I have been trying this for hours now - any help would be
GREATLY appreciated.

It depends on the printer, but usually you need to install the printer
drivers/installation software on the computer not hosting the printer. This
is particularly true for HP printers.

So take your printer software to the computer that needs it and install the
software. The printer should be seen during the installation routine.
