I have 2 wired desktops and 1 wireless laptop using a Linksys 54g router.
All comps. can acess internet and printer on network with no problems. I can access the shared folders on the desktops from the laptop , but I can't access the shared folder on the laptop from the desktops. the desktops can share folders fine also. When I go to mynetwork places on the laptop all shared folders on the desktops and the laptop are there and can be accessed. When I gi to network places on the desktops the laptop is not there. If I click on view workgroup comps., the laptop is there. But ,when I click to access it I get the following : < mylaptop > is not accessable. You might not have permission to use this network resource. contact admin. of this server to find out if you have access permissions. the server service is not started. I checked the server service on both comps. in services. They are all started. I checked all the Lan settings and properties on both the desk and lap to compare. All the same. I can't find anything different. I have both set up with only administrator , so there is no cahnging accounts. Windows XP home SP2 Norton 2003 I need some fresh ideas. I' starting to go in circles. |

I' starting to go in circles. Check the firewall settings so as to let File/Printer sharing thru it In Norton 2003 (A/V???) you need to configure the Internet worm blovking to all NetBIOS of your home "LAN" (ex: 192.168.1.1 -- 192.168.1.254) |
