Windows XP Sp2 with patches. I just ran disk defragmenter. Afterwards, I analyzed again. It reports that my PageFile has
more than 20,000 pieces. I'd really like PageFile to be in one contiguous section. How can I do that? Lady Dungeness Crabby, but Great Legs! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |

Even with 20,000+ fragments to the file,it is configured to "one contiguous
section"...To delete the fragments, set page file to "no page file" in system properties, exit properties, restart pc.Back in xp,go to run, type:cmd In cmd type efrag C: Once thru, type:EXIT Open system properties, reset page fileto "let system manage" click set 2X,close out, restart pc. Run diskcleanup utility before you do the above. "LadyDungeness@Fish.Net" wrote: > Windows XP Sp2 with patches. I just ran disk defragmenter. Afterwards, I analyzed again. Windows Defragmenter does not defragment the page file. If you feel that
defragmenting the page file is important you can always install a third-party defragmenter. --- Leonard Grey Errare humanum est LadyDungeness@Fish.Net wrote: > Windows XP Sp2 with patches.
