Search using Google! http://www.google.com/ (How-to: http://www.google.com/intl/en/help/basics.html ) Example search (your words): http://www.google.com/search?q=My+sy...+enter+windows What all those links (the valid ones) will basically do is lead you to: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/170086 As for the "administrator" account - not new - always nbeen there. That is the built-in administrator account. Likely - if you have never used it and you are the only user of this machine - it has no password assigned to it. Whatever you hope to gain out of it is probably not going to happen and unless you know full well what you are doing - for which there is no tool out there anyone that does know what they are doing trusts completely - it is better to leave the registry alone. That 1/2 of a percent of extra boost you might squeeze out of the machine for a day or so is not worth the possibility of the 100% death of the system. ;-) -- Shenan Stanley MS-MVP -- How To Ask Questions The Smart Way http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html |

Any such program is far more likely to create a problem that to solve one. No checking that the registry is correct is needed. If you have a specific problem, address it. If you don't, don't try to fix what isn't broken. -- Ken Blake, Microsoft MVP - Windows Desktop Experience Please Reply to the Newsgroup |

I share the same view as nowadays the free softwares are not going to help

IMO, there are many free software packages out ther that fill gaps not even provided for by software you'd pay for. If you are speaking of *just* registry cleaning utilities - free vs. pay - doesn't matter. The risk you take is not worth the return. -- Shenan Stanley MS-MVP -- How To Ask Questions The Smart Way http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html |

This has nothing to do with free software, in my opinion. Lots of free software is excellent. But *all* registry cleaning software, whether commercial or free, is nothing but snake oil, and far more likely to cause a problem than to correct one. > "Ken Blake, MVP" wrote: > > > On Sat, 3 May 2008 10:24:01 -0700, A Ng > > <ANg@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote: > > > > > How to check for registry is correct? will softwares e.g. PC on Point, > > > Registry Booster 2, helps? > > > > > > > > No!
